2008 C22 NSA Great Lakes Cruise
JULY 20 – 26, 2008

For 2008, the Great Lakes Cruise will retrace a portion of the water “highway” used by traders and settlers in the 1700s and early 1800s to gain access to the new American “West”. This same route is now used by ships from around the globe to deliver goods to ports all across the great lakes.

Beginning in Lexington, MI on the western shore of Lake Huron, the cruise will travel down the St. Clair River to Lake St. Clair. After sailing across Lake St. Clair (26 miles at its widest point), the cruise will continue down the Detroit River to the western end of Lake Erie, following the shoreline south towards Toledo Ohio.

From one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world to the vast marshes of the largest freshwater river delta in the Unites States and passing directly through the center of the downtown Detroit/Windsor metropolitan area, the itinerary promises a kaleidoscope of contrasting sights and activities along the way.
